The one where I contemplate wedding retirement...

I’ve said for the last few years that I was ready to retire from wedding photography…but then I meet another awesome couple that I just have to photograph.

Wedding photography is not an easy job. It’s physical. It’s demanding. It takes away your weekends. You miss memories with your own families and loved ones. As I age, my body is less forgiving. I continue to work full-time during the week it’s gotten harder and harder to strike a balance…

until I did.

Fortunately, I scored a new job in 2021. I started working for Chicago Public Schools as a Special Education Classroom Assistant (with the goal of eventually moving into a School Counseling role.) Working for CPS means SUMMER’S OFF! WOO! And there you go, instant balance, summer job as a wedding photographer. I’m also taking on second-shooting gigs with a few lovely, well-known photographers in the Chicago area (so you may see me popping up unexpectedly all over the place.) Second-shooting is a dream, you get paid to photograph and be creative all day while avoiding the hours of editing that comes with being a lead.

So I’m still here, taking on a few small, intimate weddings here and there…I really wanted to share en-masse, some lovely captures from the weddings I’ve photographed the last few years.
