AbouT

Hi I'm Aubrey--and I want to tell you a little bit about why we should work together...

YOU LOVE TO TRAVEL

So do I!  I often photograph destination weddings and I love planning my own personal trips to recharge.  I'm based in Chicago but I am open and excited to travel world-wide.  Enjoying new experiences and seeing new places keeps me inspired and motivated to create beautiful portraits for you!

YOU WANT A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO FEELS LIKE FAMILY.
I like to think of myself as member of your family for the day.  I strive for my photography style to feel natural, as if I were an aunt tagging along on your wedding day.  I'm the cousin that came over to capture family portraits in your home.  On your wedding day, I'm happy to capture the typical posed portraits but I LOVE to capture all the small intimate moments and details that help make your day unique and special! It's fun to blend in with your family, as if I've been there all along.

YOU NEED A PHOTOGRAPHER PREPARED FOR THE UNEXPECTED
I am more than happy to pitch in and help where I am needed on your wedding day (tracking down boutonnieres, fetching a bottle of water and that cousin that went AWOL.) I'm there keep the show running smoothly.  I'm the mayor of Chill Island and I want to keep you there with me (I mean I do have a MA in counseling...)

YOU WANT TO BE ECSTATIC WITH YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS.
On your wedding day, I'm a sneaky ninja with a camera always right where I need to be.  I might be your only vendor who cares about your happiness for the days and years following your wedding day and I take that responsibility very seriously (and have fun while doing it!)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is your photography style?
I am a documentary photographer, meaning I love to capture the feeling of the day.  I enjoy sneaking around behind the scenes to capture all the little moments that happen behind the scenes. At weddings, guests often joke with me that I'm "sniping" the guests with my giant lens. I often walk around with a large telephoto lens, it's the easiest way to capture a natural reaction when you're photographing a person from across the room.

How long have you been working as a photographer?
I shot my first wedding in 2004, ignoring the advice of all of my photography professors (Don't EVER shoot a wedding, you'll get sued!!) Well, it all worked out ok and here I am in 2018, still truckin' along.  Sometimes it's good to take a risk.

Do you do engagement sessions?
Absolutely!  Engagement sessions are an excellent way for us to get to know each other and for you to do a practice run for your wedding day.  Many of my packages have a complimentary engagement session built in for this reason.

Are you willing to travel outside of the Chicago area for my wedding/portrait session/engagement?
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I've had the joy of traveling to places as far as Prince Edward Island and Costa Rica, or staying as close as Wisconsin or Iowa.  Rates vary so give me a call and we can chat!

How many images can we expect?
You can expect to receive 600-800 high resolution JPEG images that have been minimally processed (I do some light editing but feel like overly edited images don't capture the natural feeling of the day. Don't worry, I'm happy to remove that blemish that OF COURE appeared the morning of your big day.)  Please note, final number of high resolution JPEG files delivered to you normally depends on a few different factors such as length of the event, photographic opportunities, weather conditions, restrictions of venue, etc.

Do you shoot RAW files?
Yes! All files are shot in RAW and processed into JPEGS

Do you edit each image?
Each image is processed in my unique style.  I generally make a few minor adjustments: exposure, cropping/straightening, white balance adjustment, blemish removal, etc.  I avoid making a lot of aggressive edits as I feel like that’s not accurately depicting the story of your wedding day, i.e. no head swapping, no making grandma look 20 years younger, etc.  A selected number of images will also be processed in black + white.

Do you offer prints?
All of my packages have digital image rights included (and complimentary USB drive of digital files), you and your partner are welcome to print photos on your own/for your own use.  I recommend mpix.com for printing.  Professional prints may be purchased for an additional fee through your Shootproof gallery if you prefer.

Do you offer wedding albums?
I do! I love collaborating with my Brides + Grooms on creating a super rad custom album! Just email me for pricing info.

Will you take a photo of every wedding guest?
I will try my best to do so but I do not walk around doing table shots.  I try to capture guests organically, mingling/dancing/cheersing/smiling.

Do you use a second photographer?
If your wedding is under 200 guests, I typically shoot solo.  That being said, I’m more than happy to add a second photographer to your wedding package if you would like one.

Do you have insurance? Do you have backup equipment?
Sure enough do, yes on both accounts.

How do we book you?
Booking a date is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once I receive your non-refundable deposit and signed wedding contract your date is yours.  Your deposit will be applied to your final package total with the remaining balance to be paid by the wedding date.

Do you take credit cards?  Yes, I also accept Chase Quickpay, Venmo, checks and cash.
